At KIS we aspire to educate our students to the highest of recognised international standards. The scholarship programme is designed to support and sustain the School’s Mission Statement and Values. Academic standards are highly prized and we target the achievement of excellent examination results. Equally, emphasis is placed upon innovation and creativity with students encouraged to take risks in their approach to the challenges of school life and to build reflection of their performance into their daily lives.
The scholarship programme exists to support the school philosophy in recognising and celebrating students of exceptional talent, gifts and commitment. It aims to foster a culture of aspiration and excellence where students are challenged to reach their full potential, developing and extending their passions and interests to the full.
Scholarships may be awarded to students evidencing exceptional talent in the following fields:
- Academic
- Art, Drama, Dance & Music
- Sports
Scholarships which may be accompanied by a bursary award are awarded to students in Years 7-13, covering the KS3, IGCSE, and A-level phases of their education.
Each year, the programme attracts talented students to KIS, extending the school’s strong academic profile. It also recognises and rewards exceptional performance and achievement from students already within the school community.
There are three scholarship assessment windows each academic year, one in each term. These are advertised locally and on the school’s social media platforms. Current KIS students in Year 6 are invited to apply for scholarships annually in term three.
In extension to the regular curriculum, dedicated opportunities, competitions and events are built into the annual school calendar. These typically include; scholars days, participation in community service initiatives, leadership training, etc.
